For high school juniors and seniors, the WBL program bridges school‑based instruction with real‑world career experiences. Through a combination of classroom learning and supervised work‑site placements, students gain both educational and occupational competencies essential for future employment and post‑secondary study. Each WBL placement includes a structured training plan that aligns on‑the‑job experiences with classroom objectives to support students’ career development.

Senior Reduction Form: 2026-2027

Email sent to rising 12th grade families - January 16, 2026

Dear Parent/Guardian,

As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, I would like to share an important update regarding how we will schedule senior students.

Beginning in Fall 2026, all seniors at Cambridge High School will be scheduled for a full course load. This change reflects our commitment to maximizing students’ college and career readiness, extending academic learning for students who are ready for additional rigor, and enriching the senior year experience through high-interest, skill-based elective opportunities.

In recent years, some seniors were permitted to take only the courses needed to meet minimum graduation requirements. While this flexibility was appropriate at the time, it limited our ability to offer a full range of accelerated, dual enrollment, advanced, elective, and CTAE pathway courses. It also reduced the state funding that directly supports teaching positions and student services at Cambridge High School.

As we begin the scheduling process for next year, your current 11th-grade student will work with school staff to review graduation requirements, explore elective options aligned to their interests and goals, and ensure they are scheduled for a full senior course load. If you have questions about your student’s senior schedule or available course options, please contact your student’s school counselor.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we prepare our students for a strong senior year and their path to graduation in 2027.

Sincerely,
Ashley Agans
