Scheduling FAQs

  • What if my teacher did not recommend me for the course I want?
Make a correction on your course verification form by crossing out the incorrect course and by writing in the correct course.

  • How do I find out about electives?
The 2026-2027 Course Catalog can be found online at Cambridge 2026-2027 Curriculum Guide. Course descriptions, requirements and pre-requisites are listed in the catalog.

  • Which courses require an application, forms/contract or audition?
Several of our courses are permitted by application and/or forms/contract only. These courses are Work-Based Learning, Peer Leadership, Exceptional Mentorship, Senior Reduction, Online and Dual Enrollment. Applications and forms/contracts will be available in Bridge West and online on our CHS website starting January 30. These applications and forms/contracts are due to Bridge West by Feb. 20. Dual Enrollment has a separate district mandated deadline in midspring.

Auditions are required for placement in all Band, Orchestra, and Chorus programs. See the teacher for more information.

  • How do I register for an AP course?
All students who wish to take an AP course are encouraged to talk to their teacher. Current teachers will make placement recommendations.

  • What if I think about my schedule all summer and decide to make changes when school starts?

We will be adhering to a strict course registration timeline. During the prior spring semester, students are given multiple opportunities to make requests and changes via the course verification process. Teachers, staffing, course offerings, and the creation of the master schedule are based on accurate course registration. There is a ten-day window at the start of school where students may fill out a schedule change request form. However, there are no guarantees the request will be honored. Schedule change requests to add an online class, level up or change an elective will not be approved.
